From the Greater Woodfield area...Take Route 53 North until the highway ends at Lake-Cook Road. Lake-Cook Road west to Route 12. Turn right on Route 12 to head northwest. Take Route 12 several miles northwest to Route 120. Turn left on Route 120, which is west. West on Route 120, past Route 31 in downtown McHenry.
