Build-to-Suit Projects

Each year, about half of the homes we build are Build-to-Suit projects for specific clients. These projects are the most exciting projects of the year, because it is much more satisfying to know who will be living in a home, how they'll use it, and how we can help make their home the most enjoyable for their needs.

The reasons people choose to build a custom home rather than buy an existing home are as varied as the people themselves. But, primarily the reason is that they want a home that is unique. Unique to their needs...their tastes...their family. It's an opportunity to get a home exactly the way you want it, limited only by the laws of physics (and the local building codes, of course!)..

We have yet to find a person who purchased a home from a big, production-builder, who didn't say they would have preferred to have built a custom home. For many, though, the idea of going through the building process is intimidating. We hope to assure you that we do everything possible to make the process enjoyable and rewarding.

For instance, each home we build comes with an allotment of time with our staff interior designer. The designer helps with the finishings that make your home all it can be. Some people involve the designer with all the decisions. Others simply use the designer for assistance with things like paint colors, appliances, or flooring. We also have a web-based system that helps you know at every moment which finishings have been selected and which are still to be determined.

Before all that, though, the first two items to be determined are: Which lot is best for your new home? and What is the design of your new home? Please read on for more detailed information.
